Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Prays for Interim Release of Former Pres. Duterte
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President revealed her prayers for former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte amid his continued detention in The Hague, Netherlands.
The International Criminal Court or ICC recently issued its ruling rejecting the interim release application of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The foreign court believes that the continued detention of the former President is necessary to ensure his presence to the legal proceedings.

Furthermore, the ICC backed its decision citing the criticisms of the Duterte family members over the arrest of the former President. Three (3) judges who decided on the interim release application yielded a unanimous ruling.

Prior to the ICC issuing its ruling that denied the interim release plea of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that a third country has agreed to host the interim release of her father if the court will grant it. While she did not specify which nation she was referring to, she made it clear that it is not Japan nor Australia.
The Vice President previously claimed that her father needs a 24-hour caregiver to take care of her. According to her, the former President was allegedly found unconscious on the floor of his ICC unit and he was brought to the hospital but his family was supposedly not informed.

Davao First District Congressman Paolo Duterte issued a warning against the arresters of his father following the junking of his ICC interim release plea. According to him, he will make sure that they will pay for the supposed crime that they committed.
The Duterte family members took turn in visiting the former President inside the ICC detention facility. There was only one time in August when all four (4) Duterte siblings were allowed to visit their father inside the ICC detention facility upon his request.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke about her prayers for her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the Vice President prayed at the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan for the granting of the interim release of her father or his total freedom from his ICC case.
“Dinasal ko na sana ay mabigyan ng interim release o kung hindi man, total freedom mula sa kaso,” the Vice President said.
Furthermore, based on the post, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that she also prayed for the good health of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, who remains under the ICC detention in The Hague, Netherlands.
Following the junking of his interim release plea, the ICC ordered former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to undergo checkup of three (3) medical experts to assess his fitness to stand trial.
