Inday Barretto Speaks from the Heart: The Truth Behind Claudine and Raymart’s Troubled Marriage
INDAY BARRETTO – In a deeply emotional interview with Ogie Diaz, Inday Barretto finally broke her silence, revealing the heartbreaking struggles her daughter Claudine endured during her marriage to actor Raymart Santiago.
“DO not judge the book by its cover, tinanggap ka namin nang buong-buo, ‘yung hindi mo natikman sa family mo ‘yung love.”
These were the strong words of Mommy Inday Barretto, mother of actress Claudine Barretto, during her emotional interview with Ogie Diaz, uploaded on his YouTube channel on October 19. The Barretto matriarch finally broke her silence regarding the alleged mistreatment her daughter suffered at the hands of her husband, actor Raymart Santiago.

When asked by Ogie about her message to Raymart, Inday responded, “Hindi mo nakita sa family na ordinary on how… what family we have. Sinaktan mo na ‘yung anak namin, hindi ka pa (nakuntento), ni-___ (bleep) mo pa sa harap ng masahista mo! Hindi mo alam nakita ng 4 (or) 5 years old na anak mo.”
She accused Raymart of taking all of Claudine’s hard-earned properties, saying, “Tapos kinuha mo na lahat ng properties na pinaghirapan niya para sa mga anak niya… You married my daughter because she was Claudine Barretto, you dropped her when she stop being a Claudine Barretto.”
According to Mommy Inday, she and her late husband Miguel Alvir Barretto treated Raymart like their own son-in-law but were deeply hurt by his alleged abuse. “We treated you like our own son-in-law but you treated my daughter a beast like an animal na sa totoo lang ikaw ang tunay na animal!” she exclaimed.

The interview revealed shocking details about what Claudine had gone through, which, according to her mother, caused the actress to experience anxiety and depression. “When I saw that (napamura). I stand up, Inday Barretto gonna stand up and fight! That is what brought me here now, walang taong puwedeng magpapaluhod sa mga anak ko,” she declared.
At 89 years old, Mommy Inday said she could no longer stay silent while her daughter continued to suffer. “Hindi ko kayang umupo lang sa wheel chair habang pinapanood ang anak, kinakatay na, pinapatay na, ninanakawan na, niluluhuran pa, hindi siya Diyos!”

When asked why she chose Ogie Diaz for the interview, she replied, “I want to have a voice that I kept all the time… ikaw ang hahanapin ko kasi ang mga anak ko, suki mo na.”
Inday recounted the early days of Claudine and Raymart’s relationship, describing their wedding as “one of the most beautiful weddings you’ll ever find.” But things allegedly changed later. “Later on nakikita ko na hindi na siya (Claudine) happy… ibang Raymart na ang nakikita ko,” she said.
She recalled hearing Claudine crying for help one day, prompting her to rush to her daughter’s home. Upon arrival, she claimed to have witnessed disturbing scenes, including the controversial “injection incident.” “Siya! Si Raymart!” she said when asked who injected Claudine.
According to her, the situation worsened until the day Claudine allegedly collapsed in her father’s arms. “He ___ (bleep) my daughter in front of pilay na masahista nila, Santino saw it!” she claimed tearfully.
Inday further alleged that Raymart once “dragged Claudine like a pig to be slaughtered” while neighbors witnessed the event. “Maririnig mo ‘yung sigaw ng mga tao, ‘tama na uy, tama na, tulungan n’yo (si Claudine).’”
These accusations are reportedly part of the case Claudine filed under the VAWC (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004).
However, Raymart Santiago denied all allegations in media interviews back in 2013.
More revelations from Mommy Inday about Claudine and Raymart’s relationship are expected in part 2 of this story.
