Carmina Villarroel Supports Mavy Legaspi’s Relationship with Ashley Ortega
CARMINA VILLAROEL – The actress and TV host has expressed her full approval of her son Mavy Legaspi’s new relationship with Ashley Ortega, following his previous breakup with Kyline Alcantara.
In an interview during the press conference for GMA’s new series Hating Kapatid on October 8, 2025, Carmina said she’s very happy for her son and their family’s blessings. She shared that after a tough period, things are finally looking brighter for them — with new projects, including their upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2025 movie Rekonek, featuring the entire Legaspi family.
Carmina said she has learned to ignore bashers and focus on what truly matters — the love and understanding within their family. She expressed gratitude for those who continue to support them, saying that as long as her family is happy and united, that’s what’s most important.
When asked about Ashley Ortega, Carmina said she approves of her son’s girlfriend, describing Ashley as sweet, polite, and respectful. Carmina shared that she had worked with Ashley before in the 2022 series Widows’ Web and found her to be a pleasant person. She also mentioned that Ashley had worked with her husband Zoren Legaspi, which made things even more comfortable when Mavy introduced her to the family.
Carmina also reflected on how proud she is of her twins, Mavy and Cassy, who have matured and are now passionate about their acting careers. Although she initially didn’t want them to enter showbiz, she eventually saw their dedication and talent.
The Hating Kapatid series marks the first time the entire Legaspi family stars together in a drama. Carmina admitted she was hesitant at first but eventually accepted, believing everything happens for a reason. Despite the challenges of filming in Atok, Benguet, she said the experience was fun and fulfilling, as they got to work and bond as a family.
