Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Calls for Pres. Bongbong Marcos To Resign

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed her belief that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will not resign from the presidency amid the calls for him to step down.

Recently, amid the flood control issue in the Philippines, there are calls for Marcos Jr. to resign from his position. It was one of the calls of some of the Filipinos who joined the ‘Trillion Peso March’ last September 21 aside from the massive call to end corruption in the government.

Ex-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s former spokesman, Harry Roque, also reiterated his call for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to resign. He claimed that the Filipino people have allegedly driven the Marcos family out before and they supposedly want them out again now. He called for “People Power” as he believes that it is allegedly the solution to the corruption problems in the country.

Roque called on the Filipinos to join the protests held last October 12. He also gave a message for the President advising him to step down from the position. According to him, there’s allegedly a chance that the Filipino people will forgive Marcos Jr. if he will voluntarily resign from his position.

Duterte’s former Spokesman is an asylum seeker in The Hague, Netherlands amid evading an arrest by the Philippine authorities. He previously admitted that he will only return to the country after the term of Marcos Jr. Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to the calls for the President to resign from his position.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that calling for Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ resignation is allegedly “pointless” because he will not step down from the position. Based on a post of News5 on social media, she stressed the long stay of his father, the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., in the presidency.

“(I) never asked him to resign… Hindi magre-resign ‘yan. Nakita niyo ba ‘yung tatay (dating pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Sr.)? Ilang taon ‘yun (naging pangulo)?” the Vice President said.

Based on the post, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that instead of calling for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to resign which she believes he will not do, she calls for the President to do his job — which he supposedly does not do as well as per the Vice President.

Cavite 4th District Congressman Kiko Barzaga recently led an anti-Marcos protest in Forbes Park Village in Makati City. The protesters call for Marcos Jr. to resign. Following the rally, Harry Roque expressed his praises for Barzaga who is being linked to the Vice President amid his anti-Marcos moves.
