Quiboloy Rushed to Hospital Amid Serious Legal Battles

Apollo Quiboloy Confined After Breathing Scare—Here’s What We Know

QUIBOLOY – Detained religious leader Apollo Quiboloy was rushed to a public hospital after experiencing difficulty in breathing, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed.

Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy, a self-proclaimed “appointed son of God” and former spiritual adviser to ex-President Rodrigo Duterte, continues to face mounting legal battles both in the United States and the Philippines while currently being treated in a hospital.

Quiboloy was indicted by a federal grand jury in the US District Court for the Central District of California on several serious allegations. Among the charges are conspiracy to engage in s*x trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, sex trafficking of children, and bulk cash smuggling. The indictment also includes several of his top officials in the United States, highlighting what prosecutors describe as a broad and organized scheme.

In the Philippines, Quiboloy is likewise confronting separate cases. He is charged with qualified human trafficking before a Pasig City court and sexual abuse in Quezon City. These domestic complaints have drawn significant public attention, especially given his high-profile role in religious and political circles.

Amid these controversies, BJMP confirmed that Quiboloy was rushed to a public hospital on September 11, 2025, after suffering from breathing difficulties while under detention. He was later diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia classified as moderate risk.

As of September 30, 2025, BJMP reported that Quiboloy remains in confinement but is in stable condition and gradually recovering. The agency assured that he is receiving proper medical care while under custody.

Quiboloy’s hospitalization has further fueled discussions surrounding his ongoing cases, with supporters claiming persecution and critics emphasizing accountability. His dual legal troubles in the US and the Philippines underscore the gravity of the accusations against him, which include both financial crimes and alleged human rights abuses.

With trials pending in both jurisdictions, Quiboloy’s future remains uncertain. For now, attention is focused not only on his health but also on how the courts will handle the wide-ranging and high-profile charges he faces.
