Post of Arjo Atayde with Wawao Builders Deleted Amid DPWH Scam Issue
ARJO ATAYDE – The Quezon City First District Representative allegedly deleted a post from his official Facebook page that featured a ₱50 million flood control project in partnership with Wawao Builders, a contractor currently under investigation for suspected ghost flood control projects.
Arjo’s name was previously mentioned by Curlee and Sarah Discaya, owners of two major construction companies, who were accused of involvement in a multi-million peso corruption scheme. The couple claimed that certain lawmakers received kickbacks from these projects, but Arjo has strongly denied the allegations, insisting he never profited from any illegal transactions.
A Reddit user, @IrRayeLevant, shared a screenshot showing Arjo looking at a project tarp displaying details of the flood control project before the post was deleted. Another user, @ScarletSilver, uploaded a 2023 photo of Arjo during a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of flood control structures and tributaries at Culiat Creek, Barangay Project 6, Quezon City.

Online, people questioned why the post was taken down. Some suggested it was an attempt to distance himself from the controversy, while others implied it was a sign of guilt.
As of now, Arjo Atayde has not released a statement explaining why the post was removed, leaving the public to speculate amid the ongoing investigation.

Earlier, contractor Curlee Discaya named several politicians during a Senate hearing, including Arjo Atayde. Arjo strongly rejected these claims, asserting that he never benefited from any contractors nor engaged in corrupt practices. He admitted having a photo with the Discayas but clarified that they had merely visited his office and that no business dealings had taken place.
Arjo’s wife, Maine Mendoza, also defended him on social media, calling the accusations baseless and urging the public not to spread hate or make judgments until the truth is revealed.
