Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Claims ICC Barred them from Disclosing Info about Visits
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that she can only say that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is “still alive” inside the detention facility of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
All four (4) Duterte siblings recently visited former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte which seemed like a reunion inside the ICC detention facility. It was the first time that the foreign court allowed Davao 1st District Congressman Paolo Duterte, Vice Pres. Duterte, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte, and Kitty Duterte to visit their father together.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, it was really requested by their father for them to visit him together. She stressed that the former President probably misses seeing them all together. According to her, they were quite loud during their visit as there were instances when three (3) or all four (4) of them were speaking.
The Vice President stressed that they will do what will make their father happy. However, recently, she claimed that she can no longer disclose much information about the visits to the former President inside the ICC detention facility.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the ICC barred them from disclosing a lot of information about their visits to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte inside the ICC detention facility. The Vice President is still in The Hague, Netherlands now.
“Ni-remind kami ng detention unit na mayroong kailangang sundin na mga conditions sa visit. So, from now on, bawal ikuwento kung ano yung mga nangyari sa loob at ano ‘yung mga pinag-usapan sa loob,” the younger Duterte said.
With regards to his upcoming confirmation of charges on September 23, based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that they have yet to finalize who among them will be able to be there in The Hague. According to her, they are still fixing their schedules but she already told their family to really be there whenever the ICC allows visits to her father inside the detention center.
“I can only say na President Duterte is still alive. ‘Yan lang po,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is set to visit Japan prior to the September ICC hearing of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Amid the budget talks in the Senate and the House of Representatives, the OVP claimed that Vice Pres. Duterte is “ready” to defend their budget request for 2026 but her attendance to the hearing is still unsure.
