Message of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte on National Heroes Day Today
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President salute the modern-day heroes in her message for the Filipinos as we celebrate the “Araw ng mga Bayani”.
Classes in all levels in schools in the Philippines are cancelled today because of the celebration of the National Heroes Day. It is one of the regular holidays in the list of Philippine holidays 2025. Thus, work in both the public and the private sectors are also suspended to give the Filipino people the chance to participate in events set to commemorate the bravery and heroism of our forefathers who fought for the country’s freedom.
There are several heroes in the history of the Philippines. In her message for the Filipinos as we celebrate the Araw ng mga Bayani today, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recalled the heroism and bravery of those people who fought for the freedom of our nation but she also lauded the modern-day heroes.
“Sa araw na ito, inaalala natin ang kabayanihan ng lahat mga Pilipinong nag-alay ng buhay at lakas para sa kapakanan ng bansang Pilipinas. Kinikilala natin ang kanilang katapangan, kadakilaan, at pagkakaisa upang makamit ang ating kasarinlan,” the Vice President stated in her post on social media.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, through the passage of time and the course of our history, several new heroes have emerged and they are quietly offering their strength, perseverance, and wit for their fellow Filipinos and for the country,
Vice Pres. Duterte expressed her salute to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who face danger every day to make sure that our communities are safe. She also recognized the efforts of the medical workers including the doctors and nurses as well as the teachers and all the “frontline workers” who are serving the society.
In her message as we celebrate the National Heroes Day, the Vice President called on the Filipinos to thank the Overseas Filipino Workers or OFWs who are persevering, sacrificing, and working honestly for their families and the country.
Furthermore, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also lauded all the Filipinos who give pride and honor to the country. According to her, they mirror the diligence, perseverance, and stability of the Filipinos who do not surrender in whatever fight and who silently fights to achieve success.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, through her post, told every Filipino who is fighting for his/her family, fellow Filipinos, and country that you are a hero. The Vice President believes that all of us have the capabilities to change the course of our lives and the country. As we celebrate the National Heroes Day today, she salute all the Filipinos who choose to be heroes of the modern times.
“Maligayang Araw ng mga Bayani! Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas — para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at bawat Pamilyang Pilipino,” she stated.
Earlier today, Pres. Bongbong Marcos led the Araw ng mga Bayani ceremony held at the Heroes’ Cemetery in Taguig. Marcos Jr. also gave a message for the Filipinos on National Heroes Day.
