Boy Abunda Finally Releases Liza Soberano’s Unseen Interview After Legal Consultation
BOY ABUNDA – Veteran host Boy Abunda has finally lifted the curtain on a long-kept interview with Liza Soberano, revealing why it stayed hidden for more than a year.
Boy Abunda has finally aired the previously unreleased 12-minute interview with Liza Soberano from 2023, a segment that had been withheld for over a year.
On his self-titled program on GMA Network, the “King of Talk” revisited his conversation with Liza, explaining why the footage was not shown earlier. According to Abunda, he and his team had long been aware of the split between Liza and Enrique Gil, popularly known as LizQuen.
“Liza and I were in touch a few times, and also with Quen’s representation,” the host shared, clarifying that the breakup was not a surprise to them.
The airing of the segment came shortly after filmmaker Sarah Bahbah released her YouTube feature Can You Come In?, which starred Liza and has since garnered millions of views. In that feature, Liza spoke candidly about her childhood struggles and confirmed her breakup with Enrique.
Abunda recalled that he had already asked Liza about Enrique in their earlier sit-down. “Habang pinapanood ng publiko ang mga pagbabago sa kanyang career at buhay, isang tanong ang naiwan sa ere: Nasaan si Enrique Gil? And that’s precisely why I asked her that question during my interview, at ang sagot po ni Liza, I quote, ‘We broke up’ end of quote,” he recounted.
However, Liza had requested that the portion not be aired at the time. “Gabi ng March 7, 2023 naganap ang interview. After that, nag-request po si Liza na wag naming ipalabas ang bahaging yun ng interview dahil hindi pa ready si Quen na malaman ng publiko na hiwalay na sila. Liza and I were in touch a few times, and also with Quen’s representation, iginalang namin ang request nila na hindi ipalabas ang interview kahit umiikot na noon ang mga speculations na hiwalay na sila,” Abunda explained.
With Liza’s recent public revelation, Boy Abunda believed it was the right time to finally share the footage. “Because of that recent revelation, naniniwala kami na napapanahon na para mapanood ninyo ang 12-minute portion ng aking interview with Liza tungkol sa breakup nila ni Quen. Kinonsulta namin ang aming mga lawyers, Attorney Vinney Ibarra ng GMA Network, and my personal lawyer, Attorney Wendell Dimaculangan and they gave us the go signal to air the 12-minute footage,” he revealed.
