Fisherman in Romblon Sprayed in the Face by Giant Squid
A fisherman from Romblon has brought smiles to thousands online after an unexpected encounter with a giant squid left him covered in ink.
Recently, Chris Anthony Rapsing Rio, a Facebook user, shared video of his memorable catch in Cambalo, Cajidiocan, Romblon. It was his first time catching such a squid, and he proudly showed it off on camera.
However, the excitement quickly turned into a hilarious moment when the squid suddenly sprayed a burst of black ink, hitting Rio directly on the face and splattering onto his clothes. In the video, he appeared to gag slightly, saying that some ink even went into his mouth.

The uncontrollable laughter of his companion, whose voice could be heard in the background. The scene felt like something out of a comedy skit, but it was all real and caught on video.
The fisherman clarified that he wasn’t hurt by the incident and was able to wash off the ink in the sea right away. Instead of being upset, he considered the moment a blessing, saying it brought good fortune in the form of thousands of views and reactions on Facebook.

The video quickly circulated on social media and garnered various reactions netizens, with some sating that the the video made their day, proving that even simple mishap can turn into something worth sharing.
Squid ink is generally not harmful to humans. In fact, it’s even used in cooking for dishes like pasta, paella, and risotto because of its rich, briny flavor. However, if it comes fresh from a live squid, it can taste very strong and unpleasant since it hasn’t been cleaned or cooked.
