Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over Senate Ruling To Archive Impeachment Case
SARA DUTERTE – Presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos who claimed that the Vice President is fond of sending Biblical quotes said the VP thanked God over the Senate ruling.
The Senate voted to archive the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte with 19-4 voting. The motion was a changed motion by Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Rodante Marcoleta who initially moved for the dismissal of the impeachment case against the Vice President.
Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto moved to table Marcoleta’s motion to dismiss the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Duterte. However, Sotto’s motion lost after only five (5) senators voted in support for it.
Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Rodante Marcoleta agreed to change his motion from seeking for the dismissal of the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to the archiving of the complaint. Nineteen (19) senators voted in favor of the motion while four (4) senators were against it and one (1) abstained from making a vote:

Following the decision of the Senate to archive the impeachment complaint against the Vice President, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte thanked God over the ruling. According to her, she and the Vice President have remained in touch through text messages.
“Basta salamat sa Panginoon. Yun lang. Text-text lang,” she said.
Sen. Imee Marcos further shared that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is fond of sending Biblical quotations. Based on the report, the presidential sister and Senator also claimed that the Vice President is also fond of sending a Bible.
“Papadala ng biblical quotation. Mahilig yun magpadala ng bibliya eh,” the Senator said.
The spokesperson of the legal team of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Atty. Michael Poa, claimed that they acknowledged the decision of the Senate over the impeachment complaint. Recently, amid the political issues and her close ties to the Vice President, Sen. Imee Marcos denies having family feud with Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
