Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks at Free Duterte Now Rally in The Hague
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President believes that the Marcos administration and the International Criminal Court (ICC) allegedly used each other in the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Countless people were surprised by the turn of events last March 11 — former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was arrested by the Philippine authorities upon his arrival from Hong Kong. He was detained for several hours at Villamor Air Base but was flown en route for The Hague, Netherlands on the same day of his arrest.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is detained under the custody of the ICC for more than 100 days now. During a recent visit of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and her son to the former Chief Executive, the elder Duterte explained to his 12-year-old grandson that he did things for his country and not all people inside the detention are allegedly bad.

The Duterte family members are taking turns in visiting the former President inside the ICC detention facility. Currently, the Vice President is The Hague, Netherlands again and has spoken at the Free Duterte Now rally organized by the Duterte supporters abroad.

At the rally, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the ICC allegedly insisted to take the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte despite the status of the case against him and the Marcos administration supposedly gave away the former President. She stressed that the ICC and the Marcos admin allegedly worked together and used each other over the arrest and the transfer of the custody of her father.
“Nagkuntsaba ang ICC at ang administrasyon ni BBM. Gamitan tayo dito. Kailangan nyo ng kaso. Kailangan namin palayasin yan dito kasi talong-talo na kami sa politika,” she said.

Speaking to the media, Vice Pres. Duterte reiterated her belief that the Marcos admin is allegedly using the ICC to keep her father away from the country. The Vice President recognized that her father was the “foremost staunch critic” of the administration prior to his arrest.
“Nagpapagamit ang ICC sa administrasyon ni — administrasyon ni Marcos at si Marcos naman ginagamit niyang ang ICC para malayo, makulong o mawala si dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa ating bansa,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte added that the Marcos admin allegedly wants to keep former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte away from the country as they don’t want an opposition. Currently, there are also talks about the possible ICC arrest of Sen. Bato dela Rosa who was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the height of the Duterte drug war.
Amid the issue, based on a report on Inquirer, the Palace claimed that there will be no special arrest for Sen. Bato dela Rosa if the ICC issues an arrest warrant against him. Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin previously stressed that the Senator might face a similar fate with the former President.
The Senator claimed that the talks about his possible arrest are allegedly “diversionary tactics”. Malacañang was quick to respond to the “diversionary tactics” claim of Sen. Bato Dela Rosa.
