Here’s What Vice Ganda Said About Ion Perez’s Withdrawal From Politics
VICE GANDA – The unexpected withdrawal of Ion Perez from the political race in 2024 sparked intrigue—and now, Vice Ganda is finally speaking out.
Vice Ganda once again captured attention online after appearing in a sincere and emotional interview with journalist Karmina Constantino-Torres on her YouTube show, KC After Hours. One of the key moments in their conversation focused on Vice’s reaction to Ion Perez’s choice to withdraw his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) back in November 2024.
During the interview, Karmina asked the comedian, “When Ion decided to go into politics, but kalaunan he withdrew. Ano yung fear mo nung time na yun? And were you thankful na he didn’t push through?”

Vice answered honestly, “Yeah, I was thankful na he didn’t pursue but I did not convince him not to pursue it, and I also did not convince him to do it, to file for a candidacy.”
He further elaborated on how their relationship works, emphasizing mutual independence and respect. “Ganun yung dynamics namin eh. May sarili siyang life,” he said.
Vice also shared little-known details about Ion’s earlier involvement in community leadership. Even before I met him.
This discussion not only shed light on Ion’s background in serving the public but also reflected the strength of their relationship—rooted in individuality, respect, and shared understanding.
