Fifth Solomon Answers Troll Who Told Him to Go to a Mental Hospital

Fifth Solomon Reacts to Hurtful Comment About Mental Health

FIFTH SOLOMON – The actor and director responded to a harsh comment with humor after someone told him he should be sent to a mental hospital. The comment came after he posted a music video on Instagram on June 25, 2025, where he danced with two male performers to the Pride anthem Salot.

Salot was written and produced by Fifth as the official anthem for Hoesik Bar Poblacion’s Pride Month celebration. In an earlier post, he explained that the word salot (which means “plague” in Tagalog) has often been used to insult and silence the LGBTQIA+ community. Through this song, he aimed to reclaim the term and turn it into a symbol of strength and pride. He described it as more than just music—it’s a statement, a stand, and a demand for respect.

In the video, which he captioned “Andami nangyare Mami,” Fifth received plenty of positive feedback. However, one basher left a comment saying, “Need mo na magpunta ng mental hospital, baks.” Fifth responded with a joke, saying he wouldn’t want to go because there’s no phone and the bathrooms don’t have locks, making it hard to do his “bayis”—a playful term in the gay community.

Fifth has recently opened up about his mental health struggles. He shared that he experienced a mental breakdown due to online bullying, especially after revealing that he had spent a large amount on facial cosmetic surgery. He later disclosed that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder—a condition that causes extreme shifts in mood, energy, and focus, which can make daily life difficult.

By responding with humor and honesty, Fifth continues to advocate for mental health awareness and LGBTQIA+ visibility. His story is a reminder that creativity, self-expression, and vulnerability can turn negativity into strength and help others feel less alone.
