SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reacted to the photos of Pres. Bongbong Marcos with the drugs seized by the Philippine authorities.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos recently announced that his administration will continue the war against drugs but in a different manner. According to the Chief Executive, the government will fight against drugs “in a peaceful way”.

Marcos Jr. stressed that there won’t be killing of individuals who were suspected of drug involvement. He also stressed that the authorities will strengthen the prevention and rehabilitation as well as boost the implementation of laws.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also wants to boost the police visibility to ensure the safety of the people and so Filipinos will feel safe. Recently, the plans and policies of the Marcos administration earned comments from Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stressed that there are now a lot of technologies in the market. According to her, the President should be thinking about how to modernize the moves of the government.
“Ang daming teknolohiya na available na ngayon sa market… May drone, robot, CCTV at napakarami pang iba na pwede mong gamitin, puwede i-harness from the universe para gumaling, gumanda at umayos ang trabaho ng pulis,” she said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte further said that the Philippines is still in 1970s and 1980s wherein the cops are tasked to patrol in the streets. Based on the report, the Vice President expressed her frustration on the state of the country.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also commented on the photos of Pres. Bongbong Marcos with the drugs seized by the authorities. According to the Vice President, photo opportunities are not the job of the president.
“Hindi trabaho ng Presidente na mag photo op sa nahuli na drugs at mag photo op sa pagsira ng nahuli na drugs… Hindi kasi ito photo op, trabaho ito,” the Vice President said.
The Duterte administration was popular for its war against drugs. However, several deaths were linked to the controversial anti-drugs campaign of the previous admin. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity over his drug war.
