Statement of Malacañang on VP Sara Duterte
Malacañang reacted to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s claim that she regrets her team up with Pres. Bongbong Marcos in the 2022 Elections.
In 2022, Marcos Jr. and Duterte emerged victorious. The supporters of the two (2) government officials joined forces to bring them to their positions now. However, it did not take very long for the BBM-Sara supporters’ unity to be dismantled.

In June 2024, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte officially left the Cabinet of Pres. Bongbong Marcos which she claimed has “no plan at all”. According to her, there was allegedly no direction as to where the government is heading. She also slammed the claim of the Marcos administration that the economy of the country is doing well.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, the government continues to claim that the PH economy is doing well but the rich remains rich while the poor is allegedly getting poorer. She also claimed that the President allegedly does not stand his words.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously apologized to the Filipino people for endorsing now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos in 2022. According to her, she also accepts the apology of presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos who was the one to encouraged her to run alongside her brother.

Recently, Malacañang reacted to the claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that she regrets teaming up with Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro said it is already an old issue.
Castro was also asked if Pres. Bongbong Marcos has the same sentiments with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on the report, the Malacañang press officer claimed that it is not in the nature of the Chief Executive to speak those kinds of negativities. She stressed that the President will not taint anyone.
“Sa ugali po ng Pangulo, hindi po natin madidinig ang ganung klaseng negatibo mula sa kanya. Wala tayong aasahan na kung anong paninira kanino man. Yan po ang pangulo. Kung may magsisisi man na sa kanya maka-team up siya, it’s their loss not the President’s,” the Palace official said.

Based on the report, Atty. Claire Castro also reacted to the claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ move on her impeachment is allegedly a scam. Here’s what the Malacañang officer said:
“Hindi ko alam kung sino ang nangbubudol. Sa nakikita po natin na pag-tatrabaho ng Pangulo, sa pag-uutos sa amin na focus sa trabaho at hindi pamumulitika, sino ba talaga ang nangbubudol?” she said.
Amid the conflict between them, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed she has no ill feelings against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. However, she admitted that she has problems with his performance as president of the country.
