Alden Richards Upset Over Broken Bike Frame
ALDEN RICHARDS – The Asia’s Multimedia Star took to social media to express his frustration over the damage done to his beloved bike frame during a flight back to the Philippines.
In a Facebook post on June 23, Alden shared a photo of the cracked bike frame, which he claimed was mishandled by Cathay Pacific. “Shoutout to [Cathay Pacific] for fracturing my bike frame and unloading my bikebox and bike rack on my home to the Philippines,” Alden wrote. He ended the post with a direct appeal: “Please do something about this.”
The post quickly went viral, sparking a wide range of reactions from netizens. While some tried to lighten the mood with jokes, others expressed sympathy, pointing out that the bike might have sentimental value beyond its monetary worth. One commenter said it wasn’t about the price, but rather the personal value the bike held for Alden, which was why he brought it with him to the U.S. Others shared similar experiences with airline mishandling, while some offered helpful suggestions, such as using sturdier bike cases or contacting airline staff directly. Another netizen remarked that being wealthy doesn’t take away a person’s right to complain.

As of this writing, Cathay Pacific has yet to issue an official statement. However, reports indicate that the airline is aware of the situation and is currently investigating the matter.

Alden, who has recently developed a strong interest in cycling, completed a 61-kilometer ride earlier this year. Fellow actor and cycling enthusiast Kristoffer Martin also reshared Alden’s post, showing his support.

Outside of his passion for biking, Alden remains active in the entertainment industry. He is currently hosting Stars on the Floor and preparing for his directorial debut in the upcoming film Out of Order, in which he stars alongside Nonie Buencamino and Heaven Peralejo.
