Former Presidential Spox Harry Roque Reacts To Claims of DOJ Chief Boying Remulla
HARRY ROQUE – Duterte’s former presidential spokesman denied the claim of Department of Justice chief Boying Remulla that his asylum bid in The Netherlands was denied.
Former presidential spokesman Roque was in hiding for six months before the transfer of the custody of his former boss, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands. It was only then when he appeared to public once again.

Roque went into hiding after the House of Representatives ordered his arrest for contempt. He is being investigated over his alleged involvement in the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in the country. Amid the calls for him to return to the country, former presidential spox Harry Roque filed an application for asylum in The Netherlands. After it, he stressed that there’s no need for him to hide.

The former presidential spokesman claimed that being an asylum seeker in The Netherlands, he cannot be deported while the process is ongoing. He stressed that the application process may take up to one (1) years and a half.
Roque initially expressed his willingness to be part of the ICC legal team of former Pres. Duterte. He even vowed to the Filipinos that he will bring home the former President. Amid the calls for Duterte’s return to the country, Malacañang urged the Filipinos to call for Roque’s return instead.

However, amid Harry Roque claiming he will be part of the ICC legal team of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte clarified that her father’s former spokesman won’t be part of his ICC legal team. According to the Vice President, they want the lawyers of her father to really be focusing on the case. She stressed that Roque must focus on his bid for asylum.
Recently, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Boying Remulla claimed that Harry Roque’s asylum bid in the Netherlands was allegedly denied by the Dutch government. According to the Justice Secretary, it was the report that he got. He also claimed that the former presidential spox is now in Germany.

Harry Roque immediately slammed the claim of DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla that his asylum bid in The Netherlands was denied. Through a statement posted on his social media account, Duterte’s former presidential spokesman said he is not anymore surprised that “the Marcos Jr. administration, through the Department of Justice, has become the purveyor of fake news”.
Duterte’s former Spox cited DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla’s claims that he has multiple passports and the denial of his asylum bid as fake news. He stressed that the Justice Secretary did it twice already.
“Strike two na ang DOJ Secretary. Una, sinabi niya mayroong daw akong multiple passports. Ngayon, denied asylum. Ano ito? Nakalap ang impormasyon sa usapang marites,” he said.
In a post, Harry Roque claimed that his trip to Germany was a “pre-planned activity” upon the invitation of the Filipino community in the said country. According to him, he was with Maharlika and they went to Germany to administer the oath-taking of the Hakbang Maisug Germany.
“I am now back at the Hague in the Netherlands. Marcos Jr. does not need billions of pesos of confidential and intelligence funds to track my location. Just check my Facebook account. It is all there,” he said.
Previously, DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla claimed receiving reports that Harry Roque allegedly has 3 passports. The Justice Secretary confirmed the efforts for the cancellation of the passport of Duterte’s former spokesman.
