VP Sara Duterte Endorses Camille Villar despite being under Alyansa
CAMILLE VILLAR – The newly-elected Senator expressed her gratitude to Vice President Sara Duterte for her support in her senatorial bid.
Aside from the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also endorsed Villar. The daughter of business giant and former Senate Pres. Manny Villar and Sen. Cynthia Villar attempted to switch positions with her mother in the 2025 Elections.
However, Sen. Cynthia Villar lost in her congressional bid in the district of Las Piñas. She held the post for several years before she became a senator and the Villar family takes hold of the position for decades already. An incumbent city councilor, Mark Anthony Santos, defeated the Villar matriarch in the congressional race.
Camille Villar won senator in the 2025 Elections. She ranked 10th in the Top 12 with 13,651,274 votes. Here are the Top 12 of the 2025 Senatorial Race:

Out of the senatorial race winners, six (6) candidates are from the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago endorsed by Pres. Bongbong Marcos — Tulfo, Lacson, Sotto, Cayetano, Villar, and Lapid. Previously, many people were left in doubt when the President did not mention Villar in some campaign rallies of the grand alliance.
Meanwhile, after a few campaign sorties, Pres. Bongbong Marcos mentioned Camille Villar again. The Commission on Elections also cleared Villar from alleged vote-buying allegations. While the grand alliance supports the investigation on the Villar-owned PrimeWater, the grand alliance also clarified its respect on the track record of Villar in public service and her being part of the team despite the probe.
Newly-elected Sen. Camille Villar was accompanied by her family during the proclamation. Recently, through a social media post, the newly-elected Senator expressed her gratitude to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte for their friendship and her support to them.
“Maraming maraming salamat, VP Inday Sara, for standing with me all the way. Your friendship and support—both personal and political—mean the world to me and my family. Walang iwanan, just like we’ve always promised each other. Here’s to standing together for the country and the people we’ve both pledged to serve,” she wrote.
Recently, Kapamilya comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz called on Sen. Camille Villar over the issues of PrimeWater.
