MAYMAY ENTRATA – The actress and singer is currently mourning the loss of her mother, Lorna Entrata, who passed away at the age of 53 after a long battle with cancer.
On Friday, May 16, 2025, Maymay paid tribute to her late mother through a heartfelt Instagram Reel. The video showed the two spending time together during a peaceful countryside trip in Japan in 2024. Wearing matching sports outfits, the clip captured a joyful and rare moment between mother and daughter. Lorna had been living and working in Japan for the past several years.
In her touching message, Maymay expressed deep gratitude and pride in having Lorna as her mother. She described her as a courageous woman who faced every challenge and made many sacrifices for the sake of their family. “Mahal kong Inay, Isang malaking karangalan na ikaw ang naging Inay ko,” Maymay wrote. “Sayo ko natutunan ang mag mahal ng walang kapalit at habang buhay dala dala ko lahat ng natutunan ko mula sayo.”
She also thanked her mother for the “treasure” she left behind—not material wealth, but the unconditional love that helped shape who Maymay is today. “Mahal na mahal kita Inay ko at wala akong pinagsisihan sa lahat ng sakrpisyo kong makita ka lang maging masaya lagi,” she added. “Hanggang sa muli nating pagkikita mahal kong Inay.”
Maymay reflected that their bonding moments in Japan were among the most meaningful times in their lives. She encouraged her followers to cherish their loved ones while they are still around. “Yakapin nyo sila, iparamdam nyo kung gaano nyo sila kamahal, at huwag n’yong sayangin ang kahit isang araw na hindi ipinapakita po yon,” she advised. “Sapagkat darating ang araw na ang mga yakap ay alaala na lang, at ang mga salitang hindi nasabi ay magiging bigat sa puso.
