Sen. Cynthia Villar Speaks on Daughter Camille’s Candidacy for Senate Post
CYNTHIA VILLAR – The Senator admitted that their family expects Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar to win in the Senatorial Elections.
The Villar family is not only known in the business field now but as well as politics. Currently, the Villar matriarch and her daughter, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, are attempting to switch positions this May 2025 Elections.
Sen. Cynthia Villar is in her last term in the Senate. She is running for representative of Las Piñas, the position she has held for several years prior to becoming a lawmaker in the upper chamber. Her daughter, Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, is running for senator and her bid is endorsed by both President Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Ahead of the May 2025 Elections, Sen. Cynthia Villar previously said that she might consider the land distribution if they won’t get the support of the people in Las Piñas. It earned different reactions from the people. Recently, as they casted their votes, the media had the chance for a quick interview with the Senator at the Las Piñas City National Science High School.
Sen. Villar and her husband, business giant and former Senate Pres. Manny Villar, voted at the Las Piñas City National Science High School past 5:00 a.m. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Senator has good words on the flow of the elections with the seniors and the persons with disabilities or PWDs given a priority.
“Okay naman, efficient. Maganda naman nauna ‘yung mga senior citizen eh. Maaga pa hindi mainit. Saka hindi kasama sa gulo,” she said.
Based on the report, Sen. Villar admitted that she expects that the people of Las Piñas will vote for her. She cited that she has done so much for the Las Piñeros.
“It depends sa mga Las Piñeros. Ine-expect ko iboboto nila ako. I’ve done so much,” Villar said.
On the senatorial candidacy of her daughter, Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, Sen. Cynthia Villar also admitted that their family is expecting her to win. She cited that they gave their best.
“We gave our best. Siyempre expected namin manalo siya,” the Villar matriarch said.
Based on the report, Sen. Cynthia Villar also revealed that she advised her daughter to be work hard and be patient if she wins senator during this election. She also reminded her not to forget to serve the people well so they won’t regret voting for her.
“Be hardworking tapos patient. Pag nanalo siya, don’t forget that she has to serve well para ma-remember siya ng tao at hindi magsisi na binoto siya,” the Senator said.
Previously, amid her bid for Las Piñas district representative, Sen. Cynthia Villar claimed she’s not interested to be a House Speaker.
