Cong. Paolo Duterte Speaks on Dad Rodrigo’s Situation Inside the ICC Detention Facility
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao City Congressman joked that former President Rodrigo Duterte got a more “bad boy” look than Senator Robin Padilla.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has returned to the Philippines after finalizing the legal team of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte for his battle in the International Criminal Court. The former President is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity before the ICC over his administration’s war on drugs.
A few days after Vice Pres. Duterte returned to the Philippines, her older brother, Davao City Cong. Paolo Duterte, flew to The Hague, Netherlands. According to the Vice President, her brother will stay in The Hague until a day before the May 2025 Elections as Honeylet Avanceña, Duterte’s long-time partner, and Kitty Duterte will return to the country.
Both Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Cong. Paolo Duterte believe that their family is closer now amid the ICC legal battle of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Recently, after he and Honeylet visited the former President inside the ICC detention facility in The Hague, the eldest son of the former President spoke to the Filipinos outside the detention facility.
Based on a post on the Facebook page Alvin & Tourism, Cong. Paolo Duterte assured that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is fine inside the ICC detention facility. He also joked on the current look of his father.
“Nakita niyo si Senator Padilla nung nakulong diba? Mas bad boy tingnan [Duterte]. Ngayon nag-mukhang mayor. Nasa mabuting kalagayan siya. Inaalagaan siya ng maayos sa loob,” the Davao City First District Representative said.
Based on the post, Cong. Duterte also expressed his gratitude to the Filipinos who stay outside the ICC detention facility to show their support to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to the Davao City’s First District Representative, the former President is also grateful for the OFWs and often asks if there are many Filipinos outside the ICC detention facility.
According to the younger Duterte, the former President wants the Filipinos to know that he is fine and he is in good health. He is happy and everything is okay. The Davao Congressman also expressed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte endorses two (2) more senatorial candidates aside from the #Duter10.
