Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero Seemingly Takes Swipe at Imee Marcos-Sara Duterte Campaign ad
CHIZ ESCUDERO – The Senate President told the Filipinos not to be influenced by the ‘prophets of darkness’ who claim that the future is not bright and colorful.
The campaign ad of Senator Imee Marcos wherein Vice Pres. Sara Duterte joined to endorse her gathered different reactions from the public. In the said campaign ad, the Vice President said that black is allegedly the current color of the Philippines.
In the said campaign ad of Duterte and Marcos, it was also stressed that the country is hungry allegedly not only for food but as well as justice. There were netizens who showed support on the ad while there were those who slammed it. Visibly, with regards to the controversial arrest issue of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the Senator is on the side of the Dutertes and not her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, and the government.
Recently, in his message for the Filipinos this Lenten season, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero seemingly took swipe against the campaign ad of Sen. Imee Marcos with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Senate Chief called on the people to allegedly not be influenced by the ‘prophets of darkness’ who claim that the future is black and not bright and colorful.
“Huwag tayo magpadala sa mga propeta ng kadiliman na nagsasabing itim at hindi makulay at maliwanag ang bukas,” Escudero said.
Based on the report, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero also called on the Filipinos to spend time in reflection and prayer as the Holy Week gives us the chance to examine ourselves as a good Christian and responsible citizen of the country. According to him, this is the time to set aside conflict, differences in perspectives, greed, and politics that usually divides the people.
“Ito ang panahon para magpatawad at magkasundo tayong lahat bilang magkakapatid at bilang isang sambayanan. Hindi naaayon sa kuaresma ang makipag-away at magkipagbangayan para isulong ang pansariling mga hangarin at layunin,” the Senate President said.
According to Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero, the Holy Week reminds us for concern to our fellows ahead of ourselves. He hopes that this Lenten season will be the time for change and unity and not to allow anyone to steal the light and hope brought by the message of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Previously, Malacañang also reacted to the viral campaign ad of Sen. Imee Marcos with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Kabataan Party-List slammed the alliance of the two (2) politicians claiming that they just allegedly need the votes of each other’s supporters.
