Mark Herras to Jojo Mendrez: “Gagawa na lang ng issue yung halatang katarantaduhan pa”
MARK HERRAS – The actor and dancer reacted to the grave threat case filed against him by singer and businessman Jojo Mendrez.
The complaint stemmed from a March 23, 2025, incident at Luxent Hotel, where Herras allegedly joked about burning Mendrez’s house if he was excluded from an event. Feeling threatened, Mendrez filed a report at Kamuning Police Station on April 1, 2025, stating that Herras had also asked for money in exchange for staying silent.
Mendrez’s manager, David Bhowie, confirmed that they are pursuing the case at the Quezon City Hall of Justice. His lawyer, Atty. Chiqui Advincula, emphasized that threats, even when made in jest, are unacceptable and punishable under the law.
Mark Herras responded to Jojo Mendrez’s allegations through a message sent to TV5 reporter MJ Marfori. In his statement, Herras dismissed the issue as nonsense, saying he does not have a habit of threatening people. He emphasized that he would rather focus his time and energy on his family and work. Herras also stated that he would not engage with those trying to involve him in controversies, choosing instead to “be the better person.” He concluded by saying this would be his final response to the issue.
“Okay lang naman yan & pasabi na lang po na marami diyan na di hamak mas sikat sakin kasi ako naman hindi na talaga haha. gagawa na lang ng issue yung halatang katarantaduhan pa. unang una dko ugali manakot ng tao kahit gawan ako ng issue or what dko ugali yan,” he said.
“I’d rather give my time & energy sa pamilya o kaya sa mga work/raket.. Sorry im the wrong guy para isama nyo or gawan nyo ng issue kasi dko kayo papatulan haha. at isa mga kasabihan nga eh ‘always be the better person’. so yeah salamat enjoy whatever you guys are doing. madame akong ginagawa personal/work related. this will be the last time na sasagot ako sa issue lol thank you,” he added.
