For the Holy Week 2025 schedule, here is a guide for the Christians:

The Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten Season. While it fell on Valentine’s Day last year, this year 2025, countless Christians had their forehead marked with ashes last March 5. Many people attended masses in church and had the priests and pastors minister the marking of the ashes on their forehead.

This religious celebration is the start of the 40-day period towards the Holy Thursday. Many church devotees start performing the Holy Week traditions like the fasting and almsgiving on Ash Wednesday.

The Palm Sunday fell on April 13. This religious event commemorates the time when the Son of God Jesus Christ was greeted by a crowd when He arrived in Jerusalem. The people were holding palm branches and were crying “Hosana” which means “Save, Please!”. Most often, churchgoers attend the mass with palm branches during the Palm Sunday. These palm branches are blessed by the priest with the Holy Water after the mass.

Every Holy Monday, there are several activities that highlight the teachings of Jesus Christ. These activities including those that highlight the purification of the Son of God are conducted leading up to the Easter Sunday.

The Holy Tuesday is also characterized by the activities that commemorate and highlight the teachings of Jesus Christ at the temple in Jerusalem. The Son of God continued His teachings despite the clash of the religious officials at the temple.

The Holy Wednesday is the day when the betrayal of Judas Iscariot is remembered. Judas who was one of the 12 Apostles of the Son of God betrayed Jesus in exchange of silvers.

For the Holy Week 2025 schedule, the Holy Thursday falls on the 17th day of April. On this day, the church devotees and the Christians commemorate the Last Supper of the Son of God with His disciples. The Blessed Sacrament is moved to the altar of rest during the mass in Catholic churches. The priests also wash the feet of the disciples.

On Good Friday, the Christians remember the sufferings and death of the Son of God to free mankind from sins. It is also the day when the people remember the victory of the Son of God who fulfilled the will of the Almighty.

The Black Saturday is the day of grieving over the death of the Son of God. Many Christians spend their time in prayers and staying indoors. The Catholic churches are also closed on Holy Saturday. Meanwhile, it is the day that bridge all the other Holy Week days to the Easter Sunday which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the meeting of the Son of God and His mother, Mary.
