According to Sen. Imee Marcos, if she will be allowed, she wants to go to The Hague and give the P10,000-cheque of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte saying that he is qualified under the Expanded Centenarian Act. The Senator is one of the lawmakers who were shocked by the arrest of Duterte.

“Happy Birthday! Matindi rin ‘yung umabot sa 80 years old at, ah, sana makauwi na siya. At higit sa lahat siyempre gusto kong pumunta sa The Hague. Kung papayagan ako dadalhin ko itong cheke na P10,000 kasi Expanded Centenarian qualified na siya [Duterte]. Otsenta anyos na,” Sen. Marcos said based on the post.

Following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the campaign rallies of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago which is led by her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She is visibly disappointed on the government allowing and acting on the arrest of the former President.

As for Malacañang and Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the government only acted on the arrest due to its commitment with the Interpol. At the Cavite campaign rally of the Alyansa, Pres. Marcos made no mention of his sister but endorsed Camille Villar who was also not present at the event.

Sen. Imee Marcos has officially left the Alyansa citing that the government’s recent actions do not align with her ideals and principles in life. She also seemingly took swipe at BBM saying she was not endorsed when she did not come. According to her, the team must be glad she left as it brings clarity now.
