Sen. Imee Marcos To Join the Local Candidates in their Election Campaign
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator assured that she will continue with her campaign for reelection and she will join the local candidates.
The opposite stands of President Bongbong Marcos and Sen. Marcos over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte shocked countless Filipinos. Undeniably, the Chief Executive earned a lot of bashing and criticisms after the government “surrendered” Duterte to the foreign court.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the government followed all necessary legal procedures in Duterte’s arrest. He also defended the move of the government to act on the arrest saying that it is part of the country’s commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization or Interpol.

Sen. Imee Marcos claimed she was shocked by the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. The former Chief Executive was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) last March 11 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) upon his arrival from Hong Kong.

Duterte was detained for several hours at the Villamor Air Base before he was flown to The Hague, Netherlands on the same day that he was arrested. He is under the custody of the International Criminal Court for more than a week now.
Following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the campaign rally of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago in Tacloban. The campaign sortie of the grand alliance is led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos who endorses the bet of the administration.

Sen. Marcos also skipped the campaign sortie of the grand alliance in Cavite. Unexpectedly, Pres. Marcos made no mention of his sister at the said campaign rally. It is not clear if it was intentional or not as the Chief Executive was able to mention Camille Villar who was also not present at the event.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos made her departure from the Alyansa official saying she will campaign as an independent candidate. She also seemingly took swipe at Pres. Bongbong Marcos for not endorsing her in the recent campaign sortie of the alliance because she was not there.
Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, Sen. Imee Marcos assured that she will continue to campaign for her reelection and she plans to join the local candidates. According to the Senator, the local campaign starts on March 28 and she knows a lot of local candidates whom she can join.
“Pupunta lang ako sa mga kaibigan ko sa local. Tutal maguumpisa na rin local sa 28. As usual sa mga local. Matagal akong governor. Sanay ako sa local. Marami naman akong kilala. Matagal naman ako sa Congress. Punta lang ako sa barkada ko,” the Senator said.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her gratitude for the Senate inquiry led by Sen. Marcos over the arrest of her father. However, according to the Vice President, the decision on whether or not the PDP-Laban will adopt Sen. Marcos in their slate lies not to her but former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
