Croatia Offers 3,500 Hotel Jobs for Filipinos

Croatia to Hire Filipinos for Hotel and Tourism Jobs

CROATIA – The European country is offering 3,500 job opportunities in the hotel and tourism industry for Filipino workers through a government-to-government agreement with the Philippines. According to Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne “Py” Caunan of the Department of Migrant Workers, the available positions include housekeeping, front desk roles, restaurant staff, and other tourism-related jobs.

The salaries for these jobs range from €800 (about ₱50,000) to €2,500 (around ₱156,000), depending on the role. A key benefit for workers is free accommodation, making the opportunity even more attractive.

One advantage for Filipino applicants is that they do not need to learn Croatian, as long as they are proficient in English. Since this is a government-to-government hiring process, there will be no placement fees and no recruitment agencies involved. Workers will be directly hired by the Croatian government, ensuring a more transparent and fair hiring process.

Once they arrive in Croatia, hired workers will receive training to help them adjust to their roles. There are no strict age requirements, as experience is highly valued, though applicants must be physically fit to work in hotels and resorts.

Croatia aims to bring in the first batch of Filipino workers in time for the peak summer tourist season in June, as the country experiences a surge in visitors from around the world. Currently, more than 10,000 Filipinos are already living and working in Croatia, which could make it easier for new workers to adjust to their new environment.

Meanwhile, Croatia is a country in Southeastern Europe, located along the Adriatic Sea. It shares borders with Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro. The capital and largest city is Zagreb.

Croatia is known for its stunning coastline, historic cities, and rich cultural heritage. It is a popular tourist destination, famous for places like Dubrovnik, Split, and Plitvice Lakes National Park. The country has a strong tourism industry, which is why it is currently offering jobs to foreign workers, including Filipinos.

The official language is Croatian, and the currency is the Euro (€). Croatia is a member of the European Union (EU) and NATO.
