Raquel Pempengco Reacts to Jake Zyrus’s Revelation About His Childhood

Raquel Pempengco on Jake Zyrus’s Revelation: “Kwento niyo yan malamang masama ako jan.”

RAQUEL PEMPENGCO – The mother of Jake Zyrus reacted strongly to her child’s statements about his childhood.

In a social media post, she shared her frustration but stated that she would rather focus on her peace of mind than argue with people she considers ungrateful or not worth her time. She believes the truth will always come out, no matter what is said about her.

Although she is disappointed, Raquel acknowledged that she and Jake are still family, and that connection can never be erased. She hinted at feeling betrayed but did not directly address the accusations. Instead, she suggested that those who speak ill of her will have to deal with their own words. She also remained confident, joking that nothing could take away her beauty—something she claims her children inherited from her.

Raquel added that she is used to being perceived negatively and does not mind being called the “Evil Queen.” She said she knows her own truth but has no plans to write a book to defend herself, as she does not want to cause more harm or negativity. Sarcastically, she remarked that no matter what accusations people throw at her, they do not affect how she sees herself.

She ended her message by stating that Jake’s success was possible because of her, even if she is now being portrayed as a bad mother.

In his 2018 book, “I Am Jake”, the singer opened up about his painful childhood. Jake Zyrus shared that he was molested by a close family member when he was just six years old while staying at his grandmother’s house. He recalled being called over by his uncle, who was drawing at the time, and then being led into a room. Even though he sensed something was wrong, he couldn’t stop it.

At first, Jake thought it was an isolated incident, but it continued for a year, especially when his mother was not around. Sometimes, other family members were nearby but unaware of what was happening. His uncle threatened him to stay quiet, warning that something bad would happen if he told anyone.

When Jake Zyrus was 21, he finally found the courage to tell his mother about it. However, instead of believing him, she accused him of lying. Her reaction deeply hurt him and further strained their relationship.
