Student Crew Speaks Out About Abusive Manager
TOXIC MANAGER – A fast-food student crew member in Rockwell shared a distressing experience about their toxic work environment, which has since gone viral on social media.
In a Facebook post, Nezel Dionaldo revealed that during her eight-month stint as a service crew member, she endured verbal abuse, discrimination, and bullying from her manager. “Alam mo bakit sinabi ko na walang kwenta ang manager?” Nezel wrote. “Dahil nangurot, nagmura, nambully, nang discrimination, nandurog ng pagkatao. Napahiya sa kapwa crew.”
She also recalled how her manager criticized her upbringing and background, making hurtful remarks about where she came from. “Sabi nya ‘Wag mo dadalhin pagka-iskwater mo sa rockwell.” She added: “Dilang naman ako na bully ng manager nayan.”

According to Nezel, she reported the mistreatment to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), but no action was taken. “Lagi kaseng ‘TAMA’ sa RGM yan. Kahit sagutin mo or labanan yan dimo pwedeng gawin kase nga ‘MANAGER MO.”
The stress and exhaustion from work took a toll on her health, leading to pneumonia and ulcers. As of this writing, her post has gained 82,000 reactions, 9,100 comments, and 35,000 shares.

In an exclusive interview with Balita, Nezel admitted she is still struggling with the emotional impact of the experience, even two years later. “Di pa po ako ok kasi andito pa rin po ‘yong sakit na nararamdaman ko na tinatago after 2 years,” she said.

Because of this, she considered filing a complaint with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). However, she later learned that the fast-food chain’s management had begun addressing the issue. “Nakausap ko na po HR and Vice President. Ginagawa na nila ng action step by step at papakinggan ang panig ng Manager at RGM,” she shared.
For now, Nezel is focusing on her upcoming graduation in April. Meanwhile, the fast-food chain has yet to release an official statement regarding the issue.
