Press Officer of Malacañang Recalls Previous Statement of Former Pres. Duterte
Malacañang press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro reacted to the tirades of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
In 2024, the Filipino people witnessed the deteriorating relationship between the Marcoses and the Dutertes. The two (2) popular political clans in the Philippines were tandem during the 2022 Elections wherein Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte finished victorious.

Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education) and she also left the cabinet of Pres. Marcos. According to the Vice President, she has both personal and work reasons behind her decision.
Duterte has thrown tirades against Marcos Jr. several times. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has also repeatedly accused the Chief Executive of drug use. The President would usually give light reactions to the tirades or stay mum.

Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte made a loud claim against Pres. Bongbong Marcos anew. Duterte claimed that Marcos Jr. might declare Martial Law to extend his stay in Malacañang. According to the former Chief Executive, their bet may not win against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the elections.

Recently, Malacañang press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro reacted to the claim of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on GMA News, Castro recalled the previous statement of the former Chief Executive.
“Noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Duterte, inamin niya, fiscal pa lang siya, expert na siya sa pang-intriga at pagplanta ng ebidensya,’‘ Castro told the Malacañang reporters.

The Palace Press Officer stressed that the people should not listed to intrigues most especially if there is no evidence. According to her, it has been proven during the time of former Senator Leila de Lima. Based on the report, Castro also claimed that the Dutertes want to regain power.
”So alam na natin kung saan ang punta nila, gusto nila ulit makuha ang power, ang authority, ang position,” the Malacañang press officer said.
