Duterte claimed that Marcos Jr. might declare a Martial Law to extend his stay in Malacañang. According to the former President, another thing that may allegedly happen is someone replacing Marcos Jr. in the position. However, he stressed that their bet will supposedly lose against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

“Pagkatapos kay Marcos, kung mananalo sila kung hindi siya diktador, may ipapalit sa kanya… Wala silang ipapalit kung makakalaban si Inday kasi wala talagang talo si Inday. Ngayon pa lang gusto nilang pilayan para okay sa kanila,” Duterte claimed.

Recently, Malacañang issued a statement on the claim of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte that Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr. may declare Martial Law to extend his presidential term. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Palace called it “another budol”.

“This hoax is another budol emerging from a one-man fake-news factory,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said.

According to Bersamin, Malacañang treats that claim of the former President which he described as “baseless and ridiculous” in a similar way to how the Filipinos allegedly dismiss them. He stressed that the admin has continuously shown that they remain committed to upholding the Constitution.

Based on the report, the Palace said that they will not backslide to the alleged “oppressive ways” of the previous admin. Bersamin said that critics were jailed and “kill” jokes were aired with glee. Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos seemingly chided the “kill” remark of Duterte.
