Netizens React to Kathryn Bernardo as a PGT Judge
KATHRYN BERNARDO – The actress’s inclusion as a judge on Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Season 7 has sparked strong reactions online.
Pilipinas Got Talent, which began in 2010, is making a comeback this year with a newly announced panel that includes Freddie “FMG” Garcia, Donny Pangilinan, Eugene Domingo, and Kathryn Bernardo. Each judge brings a unique perspective to the show.
Eugene Domingo described the lineup as a perfect blend, saying, “FMG is the authority. I add the fun. Kathryn is the heart. And Donny represents the young generation. For Kathryn, this marks a new challenge in her career. “This is another first for me, and I want to experience it. I think it’s a good breaker after doing Hello, Love, Again and before I start with a new project,” she shared.
While Donny Pangilinan sees this opportunity as a dream come true. He recalled how he and Robi Domingo once wished to be part of PGT back in their MYX days. “I’m so glad that they have put so much trust in me, and right now, I’m just gonna try to learn as much as I can,” he said.
Returning judge FMG expressed excitement about discovering fresh talent this season, stating, “It feels so good because it’s been so long. I’m so excited kasi baka ngayon ko makita ‘yung talent na hinahanap ko.”
However, Kathryn Bernardo’s inclusion as a judge has been met with criticism online. Many critics have questioned her qualifications, with some arguing that she lacks the talent to judge others. One comment bluntly stated, “panira si Kathryn jan wla nmn talent tas mag judge pa wtf HAHA.” Another simply said, “No to Kathryn.” Some also criticized the overall panel, calling it “ugly and boring for sure” and claiming that past seasons were better. Despite the backlash, ABS-CBN remains confident in its choice of judges.
Aside from the new judging panel, Robi Domingo and Melai Cantiveros will serve as hosts, bringing their signature charm and humor. They will also have the privilege of selecting a Golden Buzzer act. Joining them as online hosts are Star Magic artists Lorraine Galvez and Wize Estabillo, who will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes content.
