PNP-CIDG Director PBGen. Nicolas Torre III to Sue Jay Sonza and Other Vloggers
PBGEN. NICOLAS TORRE III – The Director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), is set to file a cyber libel case against former journalist Jay Sonza and two other vloggers for allegedly spreading false information about him. According to a report by DZBB Super Radyo, Torre will file the case during the 72nd anniversary of the CIDG, citing claims such as false reports about his hospitalization.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Torre expressed that these false reports have affected his family, prompting him to take legal action. He stated, “‘Yong mga nag-post na ako’y na-ospital, na ako’y nagkasakit, I am going to file cyber libel case against them kasi ang tinatamaan kasi ang pamilya ko eh. It’s really a foul.” Torre clarified that he is not ill and that any images circulating of him in the hospital have been manipulated.
Torre also mentioned that he is ready to file the complaint with the Department of Justice (DOJ) anytime. As of now, Sonza has not responded to the issue, and he has not made an official statement regarding the case.
