Darryl Yap Shares Report About Vic Sotto’s Planned Complaint Against Him
DARRYL YAP – The controversial director himself shared a News 5 report about the alleged filing of a complaint against him by “Eat Bulaga” host Vic Sotto. The complaint is related to the film “The Rap*sts of Pepsi Paloma.”
In a recently released teaser, veteran actress-director Gina Alajar, who plays Charito Solis, directly mentioned Vic’s name during an emotional conversation with Pepsi, played by former child star Rhed Bustamante.
According to the News 5 report on Wednesday, January 8, Sotto’s camp is set to file the complaint at the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court on Thursday, January 9, as stated by Sotto’s legal counsel. No further details have been provided about the specific complaint or case Sotto will file against Yap.
Yap shared the News 5 report on his Facebook account without a caption. As of press time, he has not yet responded or issued a statement regarding the legal action Sotto’s camp plans to take.
Meanwhile, Vic Sotto is being implicated in the case of Pepsi Paloma, who accused him, along with Joey de Leon and Ricardo “Richie D’Horsie” Reyes, of rap* during the 1980s. The incident allegedly occurred at the Sulô Hotel in Quezon City, where Paloma claimed she and another actress, Guada Guarin, were drugged and assaulted.
Tito Sotto, Vic’s older brother, became involved by allegedly intimidating Paloma into signing an Affidavit of Desistance, which led to the charges being dropped. Despite initially denying the accusations, the suspects later issued a public apology. However, the case never proceeded to court due to the affidavit.
Paloma’s tragic death in 1985, was partly attributed to the trauma from the incident. Over the years, Tito Sotto has consistently denied any involvement in covering up the case, labeling the allegations as publicity stunts. The case resurfaced in public discourse following the announcement of the film.
