Boboy Garrovillo Talks About Jim Paredes’ Past Issue

BOBOY GARROVILLO – The renowned OPM icon and actor, was recently prompted to address the leaked video involving his friend, Jim Paredes, during a special appearance on the cooking talk show Lutong Bahay, hosted by Mikee Quintos. The two are part of the legendary trio, APO Hiking Society, which also included the late Danny Javier. Despite not often being together in person, they have shared a long and strong friendship.

During the segment “Kitchen-terrogate,” Mikee asked Boboy if he was angry or upset about the leaked video involving Jim that surfaced a few years ago. Although initially reluctant to answer, Boboy admitted, “Sige. Nagalit ako. Wala na ha!” He was also asked if there was any actor he would not want to work with again. After some hesitation, Boboy gave a clue, revealing the artist’s name started with the letter “W,” but declined to provide further details.

Boboy also shared a heartfelt message for his late friend, Danny Javier, who passed away in 2022. He expressed how much he missed Danny, particularly during their successful shows. “I really miss you, especially when we have very, very successful shows. We wish we could share it with you. I’m sure, tumatalun-talon ka rin sa langit,” Boboy said.

Meanwhile, Boboy Garrovillo, whose real name is Jose Teves Garrovillo Jr., is a renowned singer, actor, television host, and composer. He is best known as one of the members of the popular Filipino musical trio, APO Hiking Society, alongside Danny Javier and Jim Paredes. The group, which played a significant role in the development of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and the Manila Sound genre, is widely recognized for their contributions to Filipino music and culture.

Garrovillo’s career spans several decades, starting in 1969, and he has become an icon in the OPM industry. He is also a successful television personality, appearing in various popular shows, including Sa Linggo nAPO Sila, Sang Linggo nAPO Sila, Mr. Kupido, Marimar, and Pepito Manaloto, among many others. In addition to his television work, he has acted in several films, such as Four Sisters and a Wedding (2013) and Maybe This Time (2014).
