Jose Manalo Marries Former EB Babe Mergene Maranan
JOSE MANALO and MERGENE MARANAN – The Eat Bulaga! host and his longtime partner, former EB Babe dancer, officially became husband and wife in a beautiful beach wedding in Boracay on December 17, 2024. Their closest family and friends witnessed the intimate ceremony filled with love and joy.
Their friends Ice Seguerra and Liza Diño-Seguerra shared heartwarming photos from the event. One memorable moment captured Jose dipping Mergene for a sweet kiss as guests cheered and took photos, clearly touched by the couple’s happiness.
Mergene looked radiant in a classic white gown with delicate spaghetti straps, pearl earrings, and a graceful low bun. Jose matched her elegance in a pink suit with a white shirt and a simple white flower pinned to his lapel.

Jose’s proposal to Mergene happened just weeks before the wedding, during a romantic dinner at a resort. Though the couple kept the details private, their love and excitement were evident throughout the celebration. This new chapter in Jose’s life comes after the passing of his first wife, Anna Lyn Santos, in 2022. He shares four children with her, including actor Benj Manalo.
Meanwhile, Jose Manalo, whose real name is Ariel Pagtalonia Manalo, is a comedian, actor, and director. He rose to fame through his long-running role on the popular noontime show Eat Bulaga!, where his witty humor and down-to-earth comedy endeared him to millions of viewers.
Jose’s entertainment journey began in 1990 with the children’s show Boyoyong. Initially working behind the scenes on Eat Bulaga!, he eventually stepped into the spotlight, forming a dynamic comedic duo with Wally Bayola. Their hilarious skits and natural chemistry made them fan favorites.
