Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Makes It to 66 Final Candidates for Senator
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The Pastor is included in the final list of the senatorial aspirants for 2025 Elections issued by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
The 2025 Midterm Elections is fast approaching and the Comelec is currently in the process of finalizing the candidates for the upcoming poll. Recently, the poll body has released the list of the final candidates for senator in the upcoming election.
Pastor Quiboloy is one of the popular personalities who filed his candidacy for senator in the 2025 Elections. The founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) amid his detention for several charges.
In October this year, the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted intensified search operations at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City in searching Quiboloy. The Pastor was in hiding for several months prior to his arrest last September 8.
Quiboloy was detained in the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame for several weeks since his arrest. The self-proclaimed appointed son of god had no choice but to attend the hearing set by the Senate. However, the Pastor utilized his right to maintain his silence in some questions.
The senatorial bid of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy came as a surprise to many people as his filing of candidacy is amid his detention. Previously, he was also brought to the hospital after he experienced chest discomfort and fast heartbeats. The Court has granted the Pastor a medical furlough so he can be thoroughly checked.
Following his medical furlough, Pastor Quiboloy was transferred to Pasig City Jail as per the court order. The candidacy of the Pastor who is running as an independent candidate for senator is one of those that made it into the initial list of the qualified candidates for senator posted by the Comelec.
Recently, the Commission on Elections has released the final list of the senatorial candidates for the 2025 Elections. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Comelec Chairman George Garcia revealed that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is one of the senatorial aspirants in the final list posted by the poll body.
According to Comelec, 117 senatorial aspirants have been considered nuisance candidates in the 2025 Midterm Elections. The poll body has released a final list of candidates for senators composed of 66 senatorial aspirants.
“Sixty-six po ang ating senatorial aspirants at ‘yan po ay ilalabas namin ‘yung ballot faces next week. Makikita niyo more or less ‘yung mga picture ng balota ng bawat bayan,” Garcia said.
Furthermore, the Comelec Chairman expressed that they did not receive a restraining order from the Supreme Court with regards to the 117 senatorial aspirants declared as nuisance candidates. Based on the report, here are the 66 senatorial aspirants in the final list posted by Comelec:
