NBI on Sara Duterte’s Request: “Hindi po kami nagbibigay talaga ng mga questions”

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Wants Copy of Questions NBI Intends To Ask from her

NBI – The National Bureau of Investigation said they will not provide Vice Pres. Sara Duterte with a copy of the questions they intend to ask.

Following her remarks against Pres. Bongbong Marcos that seemingly ignited threats to his life, Vice Pres. Duterte was summoned by the NBI. However, she failed to appear at the NBI headquarters on the initial schedule but a letter was sent by the camp of the Vice President to the investigation bureau.

Through the said letter, the camp of the Vice President requested for the rescheduling of the November 29, 2024 investigation set by the National Bureau of Investigation. Based on the letter, Duterte could not come as she will attend a hearing at the House of Representatives.

The National Bureau of Investigation said that there is no problem with rescheduling the investigation. However, Vice Pres. Duterte citing the House hearing as her reason to skip the NBI investigation did not sit well with the panel handing the investigation of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Confidential Funds use.

The House panel cancelled the House hearing so Vice Pres. Sara Duterte can appear before the NBI and answer the questions regarding her remarks against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The Vice President did not attend the investigation set last Friday. The NBI also refused to give her a copy of the questions they intend to ask her.

Based on a report on GMA News, the National Bureau of Investigation said they will not give advance questions to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to NBI Director Jaime Santiago, they will primarily ask who the Vice President talked with about her claim that she contracted someone for the death of Pres. Bongbong Marcos if an alleged plot against her succeeds.

“Ay hindi po. Hindi po kami nagbibigay talaga ng mga questions,” the NBI Director said.

According to Santiago, Duterte probably already know some of the questions that they will be asking. Based on the report, the NBI Director stressed that they will ask why she was able to “threat” Marcos and why she hired someone against the President.

“Kaya ‘yun, ‘yung few questions na ‘yun, alam naman niya na ‘yun ang itatanong. Pero ‘yung other questions pa ay hindi na namin maibibigay,” he said.

The NBI assured that they will also ask Duterte about her claim on the supposed threats to her life. Amid the issues, a member of the House confirmed that an impeachment complaint is set to be filed against Vice Pres. Duterte this December.
