Agot Isidro Criticizes Administration Amid Ongoing Drama

Agot Isidro on Election Scams and Political Drama

AGOT ISIDRO – The actress and government critic took to social media to throw shade amid the ongoing conflict between the Marcoses and the Duterte family.

Agot Isidro is an actress and singer who began her career as a backup singer alongside her sisters, Olive Cruz and Tina Isorena, on The Sharon Cuneta Show. She later became a host on the noontime show ‘Sang Linggo nAPO Sila.

Dubbed the “Crush ng Bayan” and the “Julia Roberts of the Philippines” during her prime, Agot gained fame for her versatility in acting. She is particularly remembered for her role as Ingrid Martinez, the main antagonist in the 2009 hit television series Tayong Dalawa.

In 2012, she moved to GMA Network and starred in One True Love. She later returned to ABS-CBN, where she joined the cast of Muling Buksan ang Puso, featuring Julia Montes, Enrique Gil, and Enchong Dee.

Agot has been an outspoken critic of the current administration. On X (formerly known as Twitter), she threw shade at those who felt deceived after the last election, saying: “Just saw the video. Na-scam talaga mga botante. Sa mga bumoto ng tama, itaas ang kamay.”

Although she did not elaborate further, it is clear her post alluded to the ongoing “drama” between the Marcoses and the Duterte family.

Meanwhile, the issue between Vice President Sara Duterte and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stems from Duterte’s public threats against Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez. During a press conference on November 23, 2024, Duterte claimed she had planned to have the three killed, explicitly stating twice that she was not joking. Days later, she retracted her statement, saying it had been misunderstood.

In response, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) issued a subpoena to Duterte on November 26, asking her to explain her comments and formally report any safety concerns. Justice officials, including Undersecretary Jesse Andres, emphasized that they are treating the threats seriously and will continue their investigation to determine if legal action is warranted.
