P1.5 million fine and nine years jail time await movie pirates of KathDen’s new movie entitled “Hello, Love, Again”.
The creators and stars of Hello, Love Again, featuring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, are urging everyone to steer clear of pirated copies of their movie. The call comes with a company warning about the legal consequences for those involved in piracy.
The producers emphasized their strong opposition to any form of piracy, highlighting the negative impact it has on the film industry. Their team is actively working to remove illegal copies of the movie circulating online, taking every step necessary to protect their work.
Both Star Cinema and GMA Pictures are pursuing legal action against anyone caught selling, uploading, or sharing unauthorized copies of the film. Violators may face up to nine years in prison and a fine of P1.5 million.
“Ang sinumang mapatunayang lumabag ay haharap sa parusang aabot sa siyam (9) na taong pagkakakulong at pagmumultahin ng hanggang isang milyon at limang daang libong piso (P1.5M),” the statement reads.
The producers stressed how piracy hinder the recovery and growth of the movie industry, especially as filmmakers and actors work hard to revive cinema. They also encouraged the public to report pirated versions of Hello, Love Again to help stop this practice.
Actors and industry professionals are also taking proactive steps by reporting individuals and platforms sharing illegal copies. Their efforts aim to protect not only this film but also the livelihood of many people in the entertainment industry.
Piracy doesn’t just hurt the producers and actors, it disrupts the entire ecosystem of filmmaking, from crew members to distributors. While the movie industry strives to thrive, acts of piracy continue to pose serious problems.
