During BINI’s Concert at Araneta, Robin Padilla and BGYO Were Booed
ROBIN PADILLA and BGYO – The senator and the P-Pop group faced negative reactions from the audience during BINI’s concert at Araneta Coliseum on November 20, 2023.
On the second day of the concert, BINI members Stacey and Aiah acknowledged notable attendees, including Padilla, his wife Mariel Rodriguez, and their children. However, when Padilla’s name was mentioned, the audience responded with boos. The same reaction occurred when BINI mentioned BGYO.
Some concert-goers expressed their surprise on Twitter, noting that despite Padilla being the most-voted senator in the last election, he was not well-received by BINI’s fans. One fan humorously tweeted, recalling the moment Padilla was booed, stating it was a “satisfying” experience.
“Ang satisfying nang GrandBINIverse. Grand nga talaga. Pero may isa pang satisfying na nangyare kanina. Binoo si Robin Padilla sa Araneta Y’all!! Deserve hahahaha. Sasama nga talaga ugali ng mga OG D-2,” a concert-goer said.
As of now, neither Padilla nor BGYO has publicly commented on the incident. The boos have sparked conversation on social media, with fans commenting on the audience’s response and questioning the popularity of these figures among P-Pop fans.
Meanwhile, BINI is a girl group formed in 2019 through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy. They debuted on June 11, 2021, with “Born to Win,” after their pre-debut single “Da Coconut Nut” in 2020. The group consists of eight members: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena.
BINI has gained significant recognition, becoming the first Filipino pop group to top Billboard’s Philippine Songs chart and earn the most monthly listeners on Spotify. In June 2024, they became the first Filipino artists to enter Spotify’s Top Artist Global Chart. They also made history as the first Filipino act to perform at KCON and won the “Best Asia Act” award at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.
