Queen Dura Calls Gloria Macapagal Arroyo an “Aquino”
QUEEN DURA – The content creator was criticized by netizens after her appearance on Family Feud Philippines on November 12.
During the “Fast Money” segment, Queen D answered “Gloria Macapagal Aquino” when asked to name a famous Aquino. This incorrect answer sparked backlash from viewers, many of whom mocked her lack of knowledge.
Netizens took to social media to express their disapproval, with some calling the episode “pointless” and criticizing the host, Dingdong, for seeming annoyed and rushing through the show. Others pointed out the educational crisis and questioned why such individuals were featured on national television, suggesting their overacting was more suited for social media than mass media.
Comments also included humorous jabs at Queen Dura, with some mocking her intelligence and suggesting she should have played the game solo. The post went viral, accumulating 51k “haha” reactions, 687 comments, and 2.6k shares.
Meanwhile, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo served as the 14th President of the Philippines from 2001 to 2010. She was the second woman to hold the presidency and the first to serve two terms (albeit under different terms, as she succeeded Joseph Estrada and won a second term in the 2004 elections). She is known for her leadership during the early 2000s economic growth period but her presidency was also marred by allegations of corruption and political controversy.
On the other hand, the Aquino family is a prominent political dynasty in the Philippines. Benigno Aquino Sr. and his son Ninoy Aquino, a senator and Marcos opponent, played pivotal roles in the country’s history. Ninoy’s assassination in 1983 sparked the People Power Revolution, which led to the overthrow of Marcos. His wife, Corazon Aquino, became the first female president, restoring democracy. Their son, Noynoy Aquino, served as the 15th president from 2010 to 2016, focusing on anti-corruption efforts and economic growth.
