Yasmien Kurdi Comments on the Rita Daniela and Archie Alemania Issue
YASMIEN KURDI – The Kapuso actress shared her thoughts on the issue between Rita Daniela and Archie Alemania.
The issue between Rita Daniela and Archie Alemania began after a work gathering on September 8, 2024. According to Rita, during the event, Archie made inappropriate comments that made her feel uncomfortable. Despite these uneasy comments, Rita accepted Archie’s offer to drive her home after the gathering, believing he was sober enough to do so.
However, during the ride, Rita alleges that Archie behaved inappropriately, which led her to feel disrespected. After the incident, she confronted him, informing him that his actions were unacceptable. In response, Archie reportedly apologized, explaining that he was drunk at the time.
On October 30, Rita Daniela filed a formal complaint against Archie at the Bacoor City Prosecutor’s Office, alleging that Archie had touched her without consent. In her complaint, she included the message she sent to Archie informing him of his disrespectful behavior, as well as his apology, where he attributed his actions to being intoxicated. Rita has decided to pursue legal action to address the incident.
Yasmien, who also had a similar experience in 2009 with actor Baron Geisler, expressed sympathy for Rita, understanding how upsetting such situations can be for women. Yasmien talked about how her past experience was emotionally difficult, with the effects still affecting her today. She remembered the stress of attending hearings and dealing with legal matters at a young age while working, saying it had a long-lasting impact on her.
“Naiintindihan ko ang nararamdaman ni Rita. Traumatic talaga sa isang babae ang naranasan namin ni Rita,” she said. “Hanggang ngayon, pag naaalala ko siya, nanginginig ako. Traumatic talaga siya,” she added.
Yasmien encouraged Rita—and all women who go through similar experiences—not to be afraid to speak out. She stressed that it’s important to immediately address inappropriate behavior by setting clear boundaries. Even if someone in a higher position says something inappropriate, Yasmien believes it’s important to stand up for yourself and report it to management.
She believes that by reporting such incidents, women can get the support they need. Yasmien is confident that management would take the right actions to protect their employees, and reporting these issues is vital for creating a safer workplace.
