Ion Perez Withdraws Candidacy for Councilor in Tarlac

ION PEREZ – The television personality announced on social media that he is withdrawing from his candidacy for a councilor position in Concepcion, Tarlac.

Perez expressed gratitude to his supporters, thanking them for their trust, but explained that he feels the need for further preparation before entering public service. He emphasized his desire to be fully equipped to serve his community effectively, stating he does not want to disappoint them.

“Sa mga kalugar ko diyan sa Concepcion, una po maraming salamat sa tiwala at suporta niyo na ibinigay sa akin. Pinapaalam ko lang po na hindi na po ako tatakbo o tutuloy bilang konsehal ng Concepcion, Perez said.

The It’s Showtime host concluded by apologizing to his supporters for this decision and reiterated his appreciation for their support. Known as the partner of Vice Ganda, Ion Perez initially filed his Certificate of Candidacy on October 1, 2024, before deciding to withdraw.

Meanwhile, Perez is an actor, model, and television host best known as “Kuya Escort” in the Miss Q and A segment on It’s Showtime, where he joined as a co-host in 2018. Raised as the 11th of 15 siblings, Ion overcame challenges like bullying due to his lean physique, which motivated him to focus on fitness. Before his TV career, he supported his family by working at their poultry stall, leveraging his fitness to attract customers.

Perez’s modeling career began with pageantry wins, including Misters of Filipinas 2017 and Mister Universe Tourism 2018, which opened doors in entertainment.
