Kammerchor Manila Choir Members Fall Victim to Theft During Gig

KAMMERCHOR MANILA – Members of the choir faced a major theft during their performance at Shangri-La, The Fort in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) on October 24.

Around 3 PM, they reported losing thousands of pesos worth of gadgets and cash, including iPads, laptops, and phones, from what was meant to be a “secure” holding area in the hotel. In a Facebook post, the choir shared their disbelief that their valuable items were stolen from a place they believed was safe. They mentioned that they were able to track the stolen items and found out they had been taken to Pampanga.

“Earlier today, around 3 PM during our gig at Shangri-La, The Fort in BGC, THOUSANDS worth of gadgets and cash (including iPads, laptops, and phones) were stolen from the ‘secured’ holding area,” the choir stated. “We tracked the stolen items and found them in Pampanga. While we trusted the venue, this unfortunate incident reminds us to stay cautious,” the group added.

The choir’s statement highlighted their disappointment with the venue, reminding everyone to stay cautious despite their initial trust in the hotel. They urged other musicians and performers to take extra care of their belongings, especially during gig season, stressing the importance of being alert and supporting each other in protecting their valuables.

The online community reacted strongly to the incident, with many netizens demanding accountability from the hotel management for not securing the choir members’ belongings. They criticized the venue for not providing proper protection for the items left in the holding area.

As of the latest update, there has been no news from Kammerchor Manila about whether they have recovered the stolen items, even though they successfully tracked where they went.
