Villafuerte Seen Handing Out Cash to Flood Victims in CamSur While Aboard a Rubber Boat
LRAY VILLAFUERTE – The congressman of the 2nd district of Camarines Sur was spotted handing out cash to flood victims while onboard a rubber boat.
A video of the controversial politician is making waves online, showing him giving away cash to residents affected by the severe flooding caused by Typhoon Kristine. Accompanying him on the rubber boat is none other than his son, Luigi, who is the governor of CamSur.
The video generated mixed reactions from netizens. Some couldn’t help but express their frustration toward Villafuerte, while others exclaimed that they should have given relief goods to the people instead. There were also netizens who suggested using the rubber boat for other purposes, such as rescuing those trapped in their homes and unable to flee from the flood.
Some netizens likened the people to fish in a pond wanting to eat from someone giving out food, while others jokingly suggested turning the boat upside down to show them what it feels like to be flooded. As of press time, the video has gone viral, garnering mixed reactions from netizens.
This is not the first time a Villafuerte has been spotted handing out cash. Earlier, a photo of Congressman Migz, the son of LRay, went viral after he was seen handing out 500 pesos in cash to an elderly woman. However, this gesture was met with criticism from netizens, who suggested he should have given goods or food instead, as it was not yet possible for residents to buy from stores due to the flooding.
In that post, Migz shared about rescuing 17 stranded CSPC boarders in Nabua with the help of his personal close-in security and friends. According to him, they had been stranded without food for three days. Migz also called for more teams to assist with the ongoing rescue efforts.
