Here’s Marian Rivera ‘Balota’ TikTok Challenge

Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera recently wowed fans with a unique makeup transformation video released on social media this Tuesday, October 8. In the video, Rivera showed her deglamorized look as Teacher Emmy, the character she plays in the upcoming film Balota. The movie is set to hit theaters across the country on October 16.
The video is part of a new TikTok challenge initiated by Marian herself, which has garnered significant attention online. Fans were especially captivated by the use of “Kapangyarihan,” the theme song of the hit family drama series “Pulang Araw”, sung by OPM icons Ben&Ben and SB19.
The powerful song added an emotional and intense vibe to the video, elevating the challenge to a new level. In the comments section of her post, many netizens couldn’t help but express how well Marian would fit into the cast of “Pulang Araw.”
In a recent interview on Updated with Nelson Canlas, Suzette Doctolero, head writer of “Pulang Araw”, revealed that Marian was one of the first actresses she envisioned for the show. In fact, the role of Adelina Dela Cruz, now played by Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza, was originally meant for Marian.
However, due to changes in the story’s direction, Marian was unable to take the role. Doctolero explained that “Pulang Araw” had been conceptualized as far back as 2012, while Marian was still starring in the epic series “Amaya.” Although Marian was eager to join “Pulang Araw” back then, production costs prevented it from happening at the time.
Suzette added that the original story revolved around a love affair between two races torn apart by war, a theme that still plays a key part in the ongoing saga of characters Adelina and Hiroshi, known as “AdeShi.”
