Diwata is the Fourth Nominee for the Vendors Party-List

DIWATA – The viral internet personality and pares vendor has filed his certificate of nomination as the fourth nominee for the Vendors party-list group.

Diwata, whose real name is Deo Jarito Balbuena, is a Filipino internet personality, food vlogger, entrepreneur, and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Born in 1982 in Northern Samar, Philippines, he moved to Metro Manila at the age of 17 in search of better opportunities. He completed his education at Don Juan F. Avalon National High School and initially worked as a beautician before venturing into various businesses, including trading and vending coffee and snacks.

In 2016, he became a viral sensation following an incident at a police station where he reported acquaintances for drug use. This led to a physical altercation that garnered significant media attention. Diwata’s online presence skyrocketed after he participated in the “Miss Q and A” segment of the Philippine television program “It’s Showtime” in 2019, where he showcased his personality and charm.

In 2024, he faced legal issues related to a slight physical injury case but was released on bail the same day. He also announced that he would be joining the cast of the popular show “Batang Quiapo.” Diwata has received recognition for his influence, winning awards such as ‘Most Sensational Media Personality of the Year’ and ‘Social Media Influencer of the Year’ in 2024.

His name became famous online as the owner of Diwata Pares Overload, a food business that gained popularity on social media for offering a comprehensive meal package at an affordable price.

Meanwhile, Diwata has filed his certificate of nomination as the fourth nominee for the Vendors party-list group. He aims to advocate for the rights and welfare of vendors.

Aside from Diwata, Rosmar Tan earlier filed her Certificate of Candidacy to run for councilor in the first district of Manila. She couldn’t hold back her tears after filing her COC as an independent candidate. According to Rosmar, she plans to advocate for providing maintenance medication to senior citizens in her district.
