New CIDG Chief Torre Commits to Advancing Quiboloy & ‘Angels of Death’ Probe
QUIBOLOY – The new chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Nicolas Torre III said he will continue focusing on Pastor Quiboloy and the ‘Angel of Death’ probe.
On Friday, the recently appointed acting director of the police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) declared that he would continue the heightened pace of his investigation into the charges against Apollo Quiboloy, the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
According to police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, they have been collecting evidence about claims of human trafficking involving Quiboloy and the KOJC’s alleged “Angels of Death.”
“Hinahanap natin ang mga palatandaan na nandoon ang kanilang mga anak (sa loob ng compound). May mga parents ng missing persons na ang feeling nila ay nandoon sa loob at hindi naman nawawala ng tunay ang kanilang mga anak, kung hindi nandoon lang, hindi lang pinapalabas,” Torre explained.
In addition, the CIDG is getting ready to accuse KOJC members, other people who are allegedly providing Quiboloy with refuge, and those who blocked the national highway in the Buhangin district of sedition and obstruction of justice.
According to the report, Torre went on to say that vehicles used to block the highway during the protest, including two fire trucks, two cranes, and other cars, had been seized as evidence for legal proceedings.
“Maghintay na lang sila ng summon or notice galing sa korte para sila ay makapagbigay at sumite ng counter-affidavit sa aming complaint affidavit,” he said.
Although reassigned to CIDG, Torre emphasized that he will stay actively engaged in the KOJC investigation, ensuring it remains a top priority. He also highlighted his previous experience with CIDG in 2020, where he was involved in contact tracing investigations.
NO REWARD YET?
Meanwhile, the leader of the KOJC operation stated that he is still uncertain if the reward money has been distributed to any individuals. He added that he does not know who is set to receive the bounty.
“Hinihintay ko pa yung advise kung paano at kung kanino ibibigay yan. Anyway, may task force naman kasi eh,” he said.
“Ang intelligence buildup, actually, ay nasa ibang unit ng PNP. At hindi ko rin alam, baka mamaya, dahil nga ang intelligence talaga na ginamit ko ay napakaganda, baka naman ang reward ay ibinigay na nila doon, at hindi na nila sinabi sa akin because well, it’s not really my concern,” he added.
Before the police operations, the PNP had offered a P14 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Quiboloy and his co-accused.
